Millais was born near Uppsala in 1875

In 1906 Millais had bought in land ownership on a cliff in Herserud Lidingo, a large island near Stockholm. There was defeated Millesgorden (Museum) between 1906 and 1908, which became a private residence and a working area of ​​the sculptor.
Later, in 1936, this estate was given to the Swedish people.
His motto was word that can be read on the iron gate, "Give me to do until the day grows dim."
