This is the last house in which a 1908 until his death in 1912 lived in August Strindberg.
Strindberg moved into a house with a tower, Number 85, a year after it was built - in1908.

Prior to this house on the day of the 60th anniversary of the Swedes came to expresshis respect and gratitude. Were later collected 45 000 kroons antinobelevskaya originalaward, which was presented to Strindberg, on behalf of the Swedish people.
On the day of the 63 th anniversary, January 22, 1912, workers in Stockholm staged a torchlight procession in front of the house in his honor.

In addition to the writer's own apartment, you can see the temporary exhibition, inspired by his work and thoughts.
The library contains over 3000 of the playwright volumes.

Occasionally there are theater performances.

Johan August Strindberg (1849-1912) - Swedish writer, novelist, playwright and painter, the founder of modern Swedish literature and contemporary theater.

Apartment Museum August Strindberg

To me, the first thing would incur in Stockholm? That's right: in August Strindberg Museum. Hussars, be silent! This character has become a landmark for me, before admission to graduate school under the leadership of one of the experts on his work.

And so. "Blue Tower" - Strindberg's last apartment. In it, he in 1912 and died (of cancer). He lived here after a divorce. In solitude. Five years. I'm not a big fan of museums, but in these three rooms had a surprisingly long time. Then each piece of something. Lamp "with a red eye" in the bedroom, a balcony, from which the playwright greeted the procession of fans on his birthday, dining room, as described in the play "The Ghost Sonata", a desk, on which subjects kept their seats since that time.

Strindberg moved into brand-new house with a tower, number 85 on the Drotninggatan, a year after it was built - in 1908. Since then, there survived it all: an elegant lift openwork door which should open by hand, central heating, even the toilet (similar to a Soviet surprise). Kitchen in the apartment was not. Playwright, first brought food from the fifth floor, where there was a boarding school, who passed his house, and later from a nearby restaurant. Furniture, other than the piano, who moved from a previous apartment was bought in 1909-1910, specifically for the "Blue Tower". I was the situation seemed quite modest.

While Strindberg lived in this apartment, piles of books were literally everywhere. Now all gathered together in the library of the playwright, which as before is on the sixth floor of the same house (museum - in the fourth). In total 6,800 units of books, magazines, etc. (There, unfortunately, failed to get. Allowed only in the library with a trip twice a week.)

Total dramatist succeeded in Stockholm 24 apartments. In its original form is preserved only the "Blue Tower".

The window in the stairwell.

Strindberg's second balcony right above.

Hallway. Here I filmed the only door to the apartment (now the entrance through the adjoining apartment, which also holds the Museum). It's too dark. Entrance hall is decorated with paper poshlenkim border with neutral landscape print. It also hangs a copy of the watercolor paintings decorating the foyer of the favorite playwright of theater "Dramaten" and is something like a small refrigerator - ice drinks cabinet.

There is also a toilet and - in a tiny hallway - a sink. Bathroom in the apartment no.

Old electro, over which hung a new one.
