In the Travel Palace of Peter I stayed during his trips from St. Petersburg to Kronstadt under construction. This is the earliest building in Strelna of those that survived to this day. During the Second World War the palace was destroyed, and in the 50s has been restored and given to a kindergarten. Now houses the museum. Among its exhibits a portrait of Peter the Great, created during the life of the emperor, hand sewn patchwork quilt of Catherine I, a collection of porcelain vases from Japan and China, the paintings of Western European artists and more.

The ensemble includes the Travel Palace of Peter, apart from the palace orchard and a "green garden" (vertyugarten) with two fountains. Fountains of "green garden" is a stone dvenadtsatigrannye pools with water slides in the center of tuff, which pulled out of the three three-meter water jets.

At the time of Peter the orchard garden or berry was named the Upper Garden, and served as economic rather than aesthetic function. In the greenhouses there are growing peach, of orange, apricot, bay and fig trees, cherries, gooseberries, pears and grapes, a variety of herbs and flowers (roses, jasmine, etc.). In the 40s of the XVIII century, this garden was a source of artichokes, Russian, Turkish and German cucumber, dill, radishes, sorrel, and various berries, watermelons, melons and potatoes for the royal kitchen.

In the XIX century in the greenhouses of an orchard began to grow new rare species of plants, very exotic for our country, which at that time enjoyed great popularity among the European monarchs and bred in their gardens - tree ferns and palms.

Currently Orchard is no different in this plant diversity. Here grow apples, pears and ornamental shrubs, beds and is decorated with three varieties of potatoes - Nevsky, Peter and St. Petersburg, and tapinambur.

In addition, in an orchard there apiary with different types of hives - from glass, wood and straw. It is believed that the first hive at the behest of Peter brought from Dorpat, and he personally looked after by the bees. Next to grow Pchelnikov honey scented plants and culture - mint, lemon balm, basil and oregano.

Earlier in the complex was part of the Travel Palace of Peter, in addition to the facts above, Transfiguration wooden church with a three-tiered bell tower semnadtsatimetrovoy, in which hung a bell end captured the XVII century. During World War II the church was burned, now in its place a memorial cross.
