Working hours: From May to November - 10.00 to 18.00, except on Tuesday and last Monday of each month, ticket office closes one hour earlier.
Mode of operation of the Summer Garden: From May 1 to September 30 - from 10.00 to 22.00, from October 1 to March 31 - from 10.00 to 20.00.

Summer Palace - a perfect place for those who want to feel transported into the restless age of Peter I. This is one of the oldest palaces in St. Petersburg, it was built almost 300 years ago, and during that time has not changed. The original layout of the palace has not undergone any significant adjustments, in most of the rooms retain the original interior decoration, which worked on such famous Russian artists like Zakharov, Zavarzin and Matveev. The main decoration of the palace facade fashionable to call twenty-eight reliefs located in between the first and second floor.

The first exhibition was launched at the Summer Palace in 1903, the bicentennial anniversary of St. Petersburg, she was dedicated to Peter I. From this point begins the history museum of the palace.

After the revolution of 1917 the Summer Palace was declared a historical and architectural monument, in seventeen years, it opened a memorial museum of history and art.

At present, the exposure of the Summer Palace private belongings of Peter the Great and Catherine I, as well as furniture, paintings, tapestries, glass and porcelain Petrine era.

The Summer Garden was laid in 1704, he served as a model for regular gardens in Europe. In the Summer Garden was a unique collection of statues and busts, most of which were created at the end of XVII - beginning of XVIII century, the best Italian masters. It was the first collection of secular sculpture in this country. Unfortunately, to have survived, not all sculptures, some of had been destroyed by floods, while others were replaced by "residence" - they were taken to Peterhof, Pavlovsk and Tsarskoe Selo, or transferred to the Hermitage. As a result, to date, the Summer Garden is decorated with sculptures of ninety. Another incomparable adornment of the Summer Garden fencing can be called from the Neva River, designed by Yuri Felten.
