Potemkin Stairs.

In order to become the main entrance to the city from the sea, Primorsky Boulevard for a while did not have one, but very important detail.
It was erected in the early 40-ies of the XIX century by Boffo Potemkin Steps. In ancient times, called her a tabloid, Giant, and Potemkin began to call after the October Revolution in commemoration of the uprising on the battleship "Prince Potemkin-Tauride."
Potemkin Stairs rushes to the port of a broad and powerful river. Thanks to the original reception of long-term decrease in the width of the steps (below 21.6, and 13.4 at the top of a meter) ladder seems far superior to his, already considerable, size. It is designed so that, looking down, we do not see the steps, while the wide marshland area visually shorten the distance between us and the port. When looking at the ladder from the sea, by contrast, are only visible steps. Everything that happened and is happening in Odessa, one way or another connected with this place - kind of the epicenter of the city.

Colonnade and the Vorontsov Palace.

Here lived Count and arranged receptions.

Ten pairs of slender columns of Tuscan order form white-stone arch erected by the high stage cap. There are wonderful views of the port and running down the street to him. Colonnade, and was built in order to over morning coffee Count Vorontsov could "see" the news! At the bottom there was a marina, and at breakfast the governor learned what products and what countries arrived in the port of Odessa.
