Gustav Adolf was born in the royal palace of December 9, 1594 in Stockholm. In the future, received an excellent education, and in twelve years has owned seven languages. He was the grandson of Gustav Vasa, who liberated in the days of Martin Luther from the government of Denmark to Sweden and then elected king. As an immigrant, Gustav Vasa learned power of the gospel, so his grandson, Adolph was a strict Christian upbringing.

After his father became King Gustav Adolf of seventeen years, and quickly led the country to prosperity and well-being. He was the darling of the people and the army, who were ready to follow him anywhere.

In Germany at this time of continued religious war. Wallenstein and Tilly, the Catholic generals of Austria, had already reached the Baltic Sea and sought to eliminate Protestantism in Sweden. Realizing the imminent danger of his country, Gustavus Adolphus decided to intervene in this religious war.

In the summer of 1630 fifteen thousand soldiers under the command of Gustavus Adolphus landed on the shores of Pomerania. Right on the shore, he knelt down to thank God for a prosperous passage. And the king and his army were filled with religious enthusiasm.

Gustavus Adolphus earned the trust of the Germans at once. But then it began to associate with different regions of Electors of Germany. Gustav Adolf caught Tilly near Leipzig, and inflicted a decisive defeat. Protesters cheered, and the name of Gustavus Adolphus was a sign for them, as once the name of Martin Luther. Gustavus Adolphus in Germany, became the hero of the Gospel. In the center of German Catholicism - Vienna, utter confusion reigned.

Warriors of Gustavus Adolphus, together with the Protestant powers of Germany went from victory to victory. Were released Nuremberg, Frankfurt am Main, Mainz, the Rhine, and then Gustavus Adolphus went to Munich. The Swedes occupied Bavaria, Tilly was wounded in battle and died. Gustavus Adolphus entered Munich.

But the soldiers of the Catholic army under the command of the army resisted Wallenstein Gustavus Adolphus, and in the town of Lützen in November 1632 was a battle in which Gustavus Adolphus fell.

With the death of Swedish King Thirty Years War has not ended and continued for another 16 years.
