Kamenets - a city that has preserved the spirit of the Middle Ages. Here you will see one of the largest fortifications Ukraine, fotetsyu, occupying a leading place in world history, defense architecture. Old Town is operated as a unique urban complex area of 121 hectares, separated from other areas of the deep canyon, the canyon.

One of the unique engineering structures Reserve is Castle Bridge, which connects the city and castle complex. He caused a lot of controversy about their origin. According to one hypothesis, the bridge was built by the Romans in the II century during a campaign Traian troops in Dacia.


Through a unique combination of urban, architectural and historical heritage of the Old Town with the landscape canyon, the canyon "cultural landscape canyon" is defined as a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage List.

An integral part of the Old City, its jewel is the old castle, which became the hallmark Kamenetz-Podolsk, its symbol.

Date of establishment of the fortress begins in the XII century. Like a continuation of stone cliffs rise towers of the fortress.

Eleven towers are part of the fortress, each has its own name and its history. For example, the highest tower called the Pontifical that was built with funds allocated by Pope Julius II. Still, it's called Karmelyukovoyu because it was three times imprisoned Ustyma Karmelyuk. In Black (angular) tower is a well depth of 40 m and 5 m in diameter hollowed in rock. Still in its walls survived a huge wooden wheel with a device for lifting water to the surface.
