House Museum Ainola

Few countries have so much pride in their composers, as Finland is proud of Jean Sibelius, who have lived here for over 50 years. He named his house after his wife, Aino (Eero Järnefelt the artist's sister), and lived here from 1904 until his death in 1957. At one time the house was considered avant-garde in its design, it was a project of Lars Sonck, who also designed the Finnish President's summer residence. The wooden interior of the house is full of racks of books and some are surprisingly modern furniture.
